The fishing boats of St Kitts have a curiously shortened stern giving them a truncated look. Kittitian fishermen, like most of the fishermen of the Leewards, use fish-pots and net-fishing, and generally catch small fish.
A historical fishing village of St Kitts, Old Road is the site of the first British landing, headed by Sir Thomas Warner in 1623, and as well the place of Sir Thomas' burial.
