Dominica - Fruit Vendor

What a living-colour picture she makes! This fruit vendor is all dressed up for the celebration of 'Semaine Creole' - the week during the year when Dominica celebrates its rich and wonder-filler heritage.

Children and adults dress in traditional costumes: even the vendors adorn themselves on market day with the full compliment of indigenous skirt, blouse, scarf, earrings and headwear. Vendors of Dominica are commonly called 'revendez' (we-van-dez).
