Trinidad- Doubles Vendor

Bara and channa, more familiarly known as 'doubles', is a traditional
East Indian delicacy in Trinidad. Originally sold mainly in rural areas,
it can now be bought all over the island and has grown remarkably
popular.

This mobile bicycle vendor can be seen, armed with umbrella for rain or sun, carrying his ingredients and condiments in a box placed on top of the front wheel fender. He rides from school to bust corner to rum shop, timing the movement of his clientele.

Your own regular vendor - he or she- selling 'doubles', fish or vegetables is fondly referred to as 'pewahtique' (pwa-tik).
