What's this? Iguanas for sale? For some, iguana meat is a rare and savory delicacy. But given the vastness of the forested and largely unpopulated interior of Guyana - a normal habitat for this member of the lizard family - it is not unusual to encounter an iguana vendor on a pavement in the capital city, Georgetown.

This 'huckster" - the name given to vendors in Guyana - is one of the many who take up position on the sidewalks near the impressive Stanroek Market. where there is always a lot more than just iguanas for sale.
