Among the south coast of Barbados, from Bridgetown to Oistings, coconut vendors with push-carts colourfully decorated, ply the routes selling to locals as well as to tourists.
Against the background of casuarinas and coconut palms, this vendor or 'hawker' occupies his customary spot near Oistings. Hanging on his cart is the rope he uses for skillfully climbing the coconut tree and lowering bunches of nuts.
