Montserrat - Pineapple Vendor

Exuding a matriarchal and sculptured appearance, this vendor presents the strong, enduring symbol of the West Indian woman. Sitting in a quiet corner of the market in Plymouth she waits patiently, surrounded by heaps of pineapples, ready to serve her next customer.

Like their counterparts in Guyana and Guyana, vendors on this island are called 'hucksters'.
